Why we love it:
We discovered this piece while visiting Città di Castello, Italy. Burri is one of the town’s most celebrated figures, and Città di Castello is home to an extraordinary gallery housed in the former tobacco drying facility, the Ex Seccatoi del Tabacco.
We believe the artwork was created for an event in his honour, painted onto a reclaimed café awning and crudely pinned to a simple pine frame.
It’s a large-scale piece with a wonderful story, deserving of a prominent wall in a new home.
